Championship - Team news: Changes for Charlton

Eurosport - Mon, 15 Dec 21:15:00 2008

Struggling Charlton Athletic are expected to ring the changes for the Monday night Championship clash with Derby County at the Valley.

2008-2009 Charlton Atlhetic Phil Parkinson Mark Kinsella - 0

For Charlton, Kelly Youga and Grant Basey are in contention to replace Jay McEveley after the on-loan Derby left-back suffered a shoulder injury against Coventry in midweek.

One of Linvoy Primus or Martyn Waghorn could therefore make the matchday squad after missing out in recent weeks.

Midfielders Therry Racon (knee) and Zheng Zhi (foot) are the only other injury absentees.

Charlton are winless in their last 12 matches so caretaker boss Phil Parkinson (pictured to the left of coach Mark Kinsella) could bring in midfielder Jose Semedo while Andy Gray, Svetoslav Todorov and Chris Dickson are vying for starts in attack.

Veteran Rams defender Darren Powell is hoping to shake off a groin injury after he limped out of the 3-0 defeat by Championship leaders Wolves on Tuesday December 9.

On-loan West Ham defender James Tomkins is on standby.

Defensive duo Dean Leacock (groin) and Claude Davis (hamstring) are also out, with Paul Green (broken fingers) and Steve Davies (fractured eye socket) long-term absentees.
