Ligue 1 - Ben Arfa bullish after draw

Eurosport - Mon, 15 Dec 16:31:00 2008

Marseille midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa thinks his side can win Ligue 1 after a goalless draw at seven-times champions Lyon.

Ben Arfa - 0

The tie means that L'OM are only three points behind Les Gones, along with Paris St-Germain and Bordeaux.

Former Lyon playmaker Ben Arfa, 21, was delighted with the result.

"It's a really good point to take," he told Eurosport. "We played some football, we did not crack at all and it is a great result.

"It's the kind of match that I expect to feature a big midfield battle. I thought that it would be decided by a free-kick or a counter attack."

Ben Arfa added that Marseille's good domestic form means they could win something this season.

"This year we can do some things," he said.

"But Lyon are still Lyon, they're always there and will be in the long term.

"They will not let go easily, but I think we can be champions."
