Bundesliga - Proll back at Cologne
Former Cologne goalkeeper Markus Proll is back on trial at the club as they search for a replacement for Faryd Mondragon.
Colombia international Mondragon, 39, is leaving the club in January to join MLS side Philadelphia Union, a move sped up by a fall-out with former coach Zvonimir Soldo early in the season.
Proll, 31, has been without a club since leaving Eintracht Franfurt in the summer and would play back-up to Miro Varvodic.
He played for Cologne until 2003.
"We wanted to get an impression of what condition Markus Proll is in," Cologne head coach Frank Schafer said on his club's website.
"We will give ourselves the necessary time to make up our minds."
Cologne lie 16th in the 18-team Bundesliga.
