Pulis: League is main priority

Wed 16 Jan, 01:00 PM

Stoke boss Tony Pulis insists Saturday's visit of Preston "is the main priority" rather than the prospect of an extended FA Cup run.The Potters travel to Newcastle in a third-round replay and will then face Arsenal if they progress, but Pulis is more concerned with matters in the scramble for promotion from the Championship.

Victory over North End could hoist City to within four points of top spot but Pulis first has to face the misfiring Magpies at St James' Park.

"The Newcastle game is the icing on the cake really," said Pulis.

"We could have won the tie at the Britannia, but now we have to go to their place and give it our best shot.

"But for me the game against Preston on Saturday is the main priority."
