A look at all of the reaction from the third day of the Australian Open.

TENNIS 2008 Australian Open Serena Williams - 0

Defending champion Serena Williams responds after an Australian TV commentator admired sister Venus' "posterior" on Tuesday night: "Oh, yeah, we say booty. I'm not quite sure about 'posterior'. I'll try to keep that in the back of my mind. 'What are you doing?' 'I'm shaking my posterior'. Venus definitely has a great posterior. I'm sure it looked nice."

Former champion Amelie Mauresmo after squandering nine match points before beating Yaroslava Shvedova 6-4 7-6: "I really think the lack of confidence showed a little bit, lack of playing matches and being in that position more often the last few months. I'm just thinking really what I'm feeling, how I'm feeling, how I'm playing and the way I want things to go. Get the confidence back. That's the main concern for me."

Overwhelming favourite for the women's title Justine Henin on her below par performance against Olga Poutchkova: "I was well into the match and played very aggressive and I did a good job in the first [set] ...then I lost a little bit of the intensity, a little bit of the rhythm on my serve. When she came back at five-all I understood it was time to push myself a little bit more."

Nicole Vaidisova after sending a message to anyone in her half of the draw by dismissing former quarter finalist Alicia Molik 6-2 6-3 in an hour and two minutes: "I am definitely happy with my performance. Alicia is the hometown hero here and had all the support but I think I played really well."

Jelena Jankovic, who had to take an injury time out in the 6-2 7-5 victory over Romania's Edina Gallovits: "I feel very tired for some reason. I feel very, very exhausted. I hurt (and have a) little bit of shoulder stiffness. I don't know, for some reason this year I had so many injuries and so many parts of my body are hurting. But I'm trying to get back in shape, so hopefully it will go away."

Lindsay Davenport after her 6-1 6-3 thrashing by Maria Sharapova: "I'd like to think and I know I can play better than I did here this week. Got to figure out a way to play better again at the bigger tournaments. But, you know, I get to wake up with him tomorrow, and, you know, continue with this journey of trying to keep playing tennis and have my husband and my son in my life. It's pretty great position to be in."

Sharapova after her scintillating display: "To tell the truth, I treated it like a final. From the day I found out that I might play her I started working towards her game. I wanted my coach to hit the balls as hard as he can because she is one of the biggest hitters out there."

Second seed Rafael Nadal is unconcerned about failing to catch Roger Federer in the world rankings: "Why frustrating? I have 5,700 points so there is nothing frustrating. I'm very happy to be number two, and I would love to be number two for the next hundred years."

Mardy Fish after he demolished Tommy Robredo 6-1 6-2 6-3: "This was definitely one of the best matches I've played ever. Tommy makes you play a lot of balls (and) ...I just tried to shorten the points as much as I could. I was real successful doing that."

Andy Roddick after romping to a 6-2 6-2 6-4 victory over Germany's Michael Berrer: "It's a little bit cold and I knew the ball wouldn't go through the court so much. I was content to hit it around and let him try and bully the ball."
