Premier League - Manucho joins Hull on loan

Eurosport - Fri, 16 Jan 13:10:00 2009

Hull have struck a deal to sign Manchester United striker Manucho on loan for the rest of the season.

The Angolan frontman has made one Barclays Premier League appearance for United, who let him spend part of last season on loan at Panathinaikos.

Hull have not yet secured a work permit for the 25-year-old but hope they will be able to achieve that before Saturday's match against Arsenal.

The Tigers also remain hopeful of completing the signing of former Liverpool right-back Steve Finnan from Espanyol, however that is unlikely to be finalised within 24 hours.

Hull boss Phil Brown said the club were still hoping to do a deal with Finnan, but insisted the club would have to be completely satisfied about the full-back's fitness.

"It is a long way from being complete," said Brown.

"He has been injured and I think he has only played four games for Espanyol, which is a concern of ours, hence the reason he has undergone a medical to the extent he has.

"We are pulling out all the stops. We are making sure we are doing this one properly."

  3. i cant see manucho impressing, hopefully im wrong and he does really well and comes back to UTD and shines but id be supprised. i dont really understand UTD signing him in the first place, we didnt sign him as a promising youngster as he is 25 and if he isnt in the first team by now i cant see him ever being there. but like i said i hope he proves me wrong. ps - the racist comment is a load of @#$% and there are many documented proof that i could call on, what a stupid comment!

Cole and yorke won a champions league while on the pitch, parker, wallace, ince, need i go on. Get your head out of your @#$% and stop ruining this page talking rubbish. MUPPET!!!

  12. Manucho is a fabulous signing for the Tigers and hopefully he will have a similar impact as when Campbell came!!!!!. Finnan needs to prove his fitness but I am afraid we may have been sold a pup(or an old dog)with Kilbane. I totally expected that Hull City would explode a bit around Christmas cos thats what happens to new clubs to the Premier League. Other teams "work you out" but City will return and avoid relegation.

    Come on you ULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

CONSIDERING THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THE PREMIERSHIP YOU CANNOT COMPAIN ABOUT HOW THEY ARE DOING!! COME ON CITY TURN THE GUNS ON THE GUNNERS!! LET THE TIGERS ROAR!!

  19. Manucho is a very good footballer, trust me, he is proper quality... He will score plenty goals for Hull, and by given him this chance of playing regularly, he will soon be regarded as the best african footballer because he will be better than the likes of Essien, Drogba or Adebayor
