Simpson short up front

Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson has problems in attack ahead of the FA Cup third-round replay with Bolton.

George Donnelly is a major doubt with a groin strain which saw him substituted during the 2-1 weekend defeat to Torquay.

Ben Tomlinson could come into contention following time on the sidelines with a broken ankle, but fellow striker Ben Mills is ineligible having played for Nantwich earlier in the competition.

Midfielder Michael Thomas and forward Greg Daniel are also cup tied following loan spells with Leek and Newcastle Town respectively.

Simpson will continue to monitor the fitness of Sam Wedgbury, who is playing through the pain of a abdominal complaint, while Scott Kay could add to the Silkmen's midfield options having returned to training last week after a length absence due to a thigh problem.

Ross Draper (broken metatarsal) and Lewis Chalmers (hernia) are long-term absentees.
