Sheffield Wednesday defender Mark Beevers has revealed he had no interest in leaving the Owls in a January move to the Premiership.Teenager Beevers was the subject of much speculation during the transfer window, but insists his future lies at Hillsborough.

Beevers told the club's official website: "It was nice to look at newspapers and have my friends tell me that there were Premier League clubs looking at me.

"Some of the time I didn't believe them, but I always felt I wanted to play for Sheffield Wednesday.

"I didn't want to move to a really big club because I think when some young players move to Premier League clubs their performances dip as they might be playing in the reserves.

"Here I've been playing in the first team regularly so my development can progress over the next few weeks."
