Brentford maintained their crusade towards the play-off places with a comfortable 3-1 victory at home to League Two rivals Accrington.Glenn Poole broke the deadlock just after the half-hour, slamming home Ricky Shakes' near-post cross on the volley to leave goalkeeper Kenny Arthur with no chance.
But the visitors hit back minutes later, Ian Craney converting Shaun Whalley's driven left-wing cross from close range.
Before that both sides had seen efforts hit the woodwork. Poole for Brentford rattling the outside of the post with a free-kick while Paul Mullin shook the crossbar with a first-time volley.
Brentford clinched the points and made it nine games unbeaten with two more goals either side of the break.
