Hammond hoping duo can impress

Sat 16 Feb, 03:15 PM

Reading director of football Nick Hammond is hoping that unknown new signings Marek Matejovsky and Jimmy Kebe can make an impact at the club. Both players arrived during the transfer window and have begun to acclimatise to English football.

"Marek was not well known but he's a good player, there's no question about it," said Hammond.

"People have said in the past that they'd not heard of our signings, there's a long line of them.

"You can go back to Dave Kitson, Kevin Doyle and Nicky Shorey, who was playing in Leyton Orient's reserves. We've done the same with two in this window."
