Jags focused on Everton progress

Sat 16 Feb, 03:45 PM

Everton's Phil Jagielka has been in fine form playing in the heart of the Toffees' defence in recent weeks and is looking to continue his form.Jagielka, usually accustomed to playing at right-back, has received glowing praise from manager David Moyes in recent weeks but is only focused on next week's UEFA Cup second-leg clash against SK Brann.

"If we can keep building on the defensive success we are having and the strikers can keep chipping in with more goals then I think we can go far in the UEFA Cup and keep on going in the league," said Jagielka.

"If they get one goal back at Goodison then it's game on. So we have to keep concentrated at the back and not concede and if we nick another then it will make our life a lot easier.

"Brann have got some decent enough players and our result shows the battling qualities we have in the squad, considering we had players out injured."
