Former England coach Steve McClaren has revealed that he would be willing to take up a job with a Championship club.McClaren was relieved of his duties with the national side following the unsuccessful Euro 2008 qualifying campaign, but is keen to get back to work and admits that he would be prepared to take charge of a team in the second tier.
McClaren previously guided Middlesbrough to Carling Cup glory and a UEFA Cup final during a five-year spell in charge at The Riverside, proving that he is more than competent at club level.
He claims that he has already turned down a number of offers from overseas and, without ruling out the possibility of coaching abroad, McClaren has said that he is now more concerned with working with an ambitious chairman than a top-flight club.
"My next job will be about the person employing me as much as anything," he said.
"He has to have vision and be ambitious. It's got to be a challenge.
"That might be abroad or in the Championship."
