Oldham got their play-off push back on track with a 3-0 home win over Yeovil, earning John Sheridan's side a third home victory in a row.In-form midfielder Gary McDonald set them on their way after 15 minutes after taking a neat return pass from skipper Neal Eardley before finishing superbly, curling a left-foot shot past visiting goalkeeper Scott Flinders from 12 yards.
Yeovil had a great chance to equalise in the 41st minute when substitute Jamie Peters was left with only Mark Crossley to beat but the veteran keeper turned his 12-yard effort round a post.
The killer second goal arrived in the 76th minute when Lewis Alessandra fired over a far-post cross and Yeovil full-back Lee Peltier, signed from Liverpool last month, headed into the roof of his own net.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men when Australian defender Scott Guyett went off injured with 11 minutes to go and all three substitutes had been used and the hosts made the extra man count.
Three minutes from time, Alessandra picked out Dean Smalley who saw his low cross pushed out by Flinders to the lurking Craig Davies who was left with a simple tap-in for his 14th goal of the season.
