Tyson maintains home record

Sat 16 Feb, 07:45 PM

A fine solo goal by Nathan Tyson maintained Nottingham Forest's impressive home record in League One thanks to a 1-0 win over Swindon.Tyson's magical moment came five minutes in the second half but his match-winning afternoon ended in disappointment when he had to be substituted with a recurrence of a hamstring injury.

But he settled the issue when he sped onto a throughball from Matt Lockwood, burst past a defender and slid his shot past Swindon goalkeeper Peter Brezovan from a narrow angle.

Brezovan looked at fault for being beaten at his near post but there was no denying Forest's right to the victory.

Swindon had few ideas in attack and after Tyson's breakthrough, Forest created a number of excellent opportunities.

The best of them saw teenage star Lewis McGugan open up the Swindon defence before firing wastefully over the bar and soon afterwards Junior Agogo, back from African Cup of Nations' duty with Ghana, failed to convert an inviting chance set up by Kris Commons and Tyson.
