Cheltenham manager Keith Downing admitted his side's 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers was not pretty but labelled it a massive result for the club. The Robins, who were forced to weather bouts of heavy pressure, inflicted a late killer-blow with a Steve Brooker header 10 minutes from time.
The win, following hot on the heels of their midweek triumph at Leeds, has left Cheltenham well placed to beat the drop.
"It was a stop-start game which was not great for the public, but at this stage of the season the vital thing was to get three points," said Downing.
"It was important coming off the Leeds victory to follow that up with another three points.
"Everybody is buoyed by the result today, but we are not out of the woods yet, there's still a long way to go."
