Mick Harford hailed youth striker Ryan Charles for setting up his first victory as Luton manager by beating play-off hopefuls Oldham 3-0.Charles, 18, struck in the 20th minute on his home debut to put the Hatters on their way to a first victory since New Year's Day before Matt Spring and Lewis Emanuel sealed the points.
Harford said: "It was thoroughly deserved and it's the level of performance I've been looking for since I came here.
"It was nice to get the clean sheet as well and I'm delighted for all the players, especially the young lad Charles. He's been great to have around the training ground and has been a breath of fresh air. He's tireless and I felt he deserved his chance and he capped it with a great goal."
The win leaves Luton still 12 points from safety with nine games remaining and the Hatters face relegation rivals Cheltenham, Millwall and Crewe in their next three games.
"On that performance I expect to get nine points from our next three games," added Harford.
