Leicester boss Ian Holloway has survival in his sights after Steve Howard's treble against West Brom boosted their Championship survival hopes.Leicester had trailed to a strike from Robert Koren, but the dismissal of Albion's on-loan Aston Villa striker Luke Moore turned the game in their favour.
Gareth McAuley equalised and Howard then almost single-handedly destroyed Albion as the Foxes triumphed 4-1 at The Hawthorns.
Holloway said: "We have got a massive job to do. It was awful when we dropped in that bottom three.
"But on the balance of the whole season and the changes that have happened we have to hold our hands up and say we haven't done well enough yet, but with seven games left I believe we will.
"We have to start building and I have got some good players here providing they are motivated like that.
"When Albion had a deflected shot that went in and their goalkeeper made an unbelievable save I thought here we go again.
"We kept our focus. Goals change games and once we headed one in there was a huge difference in the team.
"That is a monkey off our back as that was the first time this season Leicester City have gone a goal down and come back and won.
"I will be loving it if we can get another one because we have not won back-to-back games.
"That is why we are down where we are. But some of that play against Albion I am pleased with. We just have to try and become consistent. This is just one game."
The defeat cast a major cloud over Albion's automatic promotion hopes and it came at a cost.
Moore will now be banned for three games and central defender Leon Barnett limped off with a hamstring strain, forcing Tony Mowbray's side to finish the game with nine men.
Mowbray, whose side have won just one of their last six home games, said: "Luke's sending-off did affect us. It looked like he went chasing a ball.
"Officials make decisions that they see and we have to abide by them.
"Luke was very quiet after the game and we will have a chat with him when things calm down. He is a young player who is trying to impress.
"We have just got to get on with things now and we won't look too deeply at today. We need to move on to the next game.
"We got our noses in front and who knows what would have happened if it had stayed 11 v 11. I think it could have been different. But we know that have got to win some games now."
Albion were already without the injured Carl Hoefkens, Chris Brunt, James Morrison and Filipe Teixeira before the game with Leicester and Mowbray will now consider whether to make a move into the loan market to strengthen his stretched squad.
Mowbray added: "I prefer at times to have it tight knit. But we will sit down and see if we want to add to the squad."
Koren fired Albion ahead with his ninth goal of the season in the 22nd minute after Leicester failed to deal with a cross from Jonathan Greening.
Slovenian international Koren drilled a low drive past Paul Henderson from 20 yards.
But any hopes Albion had of cruising to victory were dashed in a frantic four-minute spell.
Moore saw red for his challenge on Richard Stearman in the 34th minute and Albion were still coming to terms with that when McAuley equalised.
After Matty Fryatt's shot had been turned away for a corner by Dean Kiely, Hayles picked out Joe Mattock and his left-wing cross was powerfully headed home by the unmarked McAuley.
Albion struggled to deal with their lack of manpower and Howard put Leicester firmly in control from the spot in the 58th minute.
Referee Darren Deadman immediately awarded a penalty when Barnett sent Lee Hendrie tumbling and Howard comfortably beat Kiely
