Fulham match-winner Brian McBride believes his side can build on their crucial 1-0 victory over Everton at Craven Cottage on Sunday.McBride notched the decider in the 67th minute when he met a cross from Simon Davies to head beyond stranded American compatriot Tim Howard and give Fulham their win.
Everton's best chance was wasted by striker Aiyegbeni Yakubu three minutes before the break when his shot was well saved by Kasey Keller.
"It was a good game for us today all-round. The back four were so strong right from the beginning, and we need to continue that every game," McBride told Sky Sports 1.
"To be honest, we were pretty solid; they moved (Joleon) Lescott up front, and we were able to deal with that. We hung on, and also got forward a little bit."
As for his goal, the American said: "It came off a defender [Joseph Yobo]; I came across and happened to be in the right spot."
McBride added: "We've got to focus on the next game, against Newcastle. We believe we can do it (avoid relegation). I hope we do."
