Manchester City hero Nedum Onuoha admitted every game until the end of the season is "crucial" if his side are to claim a European place.City climbed to eighth place in the Premier League after they came from behind to record a 2-1 victory over Tottenham at Eastlands on Sunday.

Robbie Keane had opened the scoring in the 32nd minute before Stephen Ireland equalised from close range in the 59th minute.

Onuoha claimed the points for Sven-Goran Eriksson's side in the 71st minute when he got on the end of Elano's corner to head in his first goal for the club.

"The win was important and every game is crucial so hopefully we'll be there or thereabouts," Onuoha told Sky Sports 1.

"A few people had been on our backs so we're delighted with the win. I'd like to think it will give us the confidence to go forward..

"I was pleased with my goal - it's taken me a four years to get it so I am delighted."

Michael Johnson also said the result was the culmination of hard work on the training ground.

"This has to be a turning point for us to get back to winning ways," he said.

"We have worked really hard for each other and I was knackered at the the end of the game. We've stuck together and deserved the win.

"I have played against Spurs three of four times so I am pleased to get a positive result against them."
