Oldham manager John Sheridan rued a missed opportunity to close in on the play-off places after his side went down 3-0 at lowly Luton. The Latics found themselves three behind after 35 minutes and Sheridan felt that despite Luton possessing some of the division's top players, his side's lack of strength in depth cost them a chance to close in on the play-offs.
"For me Luton have got some of the best players in this division but with the run they've been on there was an opportunity for us here," he said.
"The thing it shows up is that we don't have enough strength in depth.
"The play-offs are not out of the question but this performance says we're not good enough."
