Port Vale boss Lee Sinnott claimed "it was the sort of game you didn't want to end" after his side netted late on in a 3-3 draw with Leeds.Leeds lost a two-goal lead but looked to have got out of jail when Dougie Freedman headed his second from Sebastien Carole's 86th-minute cross.
But Vale, who are now 14 points from safety with just eight games remaining, refused to lie down and levelled again when Luke Rodgers pounced on Kyle Perry's knock down in the 93rd minute.
Sinnott said: "As a spectacle I don't think that game could be bettered. It had a bit of everything and our fans showed how much they appreciated the entertainment.
"It was the sort of game you didn't want to end. I know I wanted it to carry on and see which side could knock the other out with the final punch.
"We are obviously in a desperate position when you look at the table, but there is no doubting the character of the players and there are positive signs for the long-term."
