Toothless Lions disappoint Jackett

Sun 16 Mar, 04:30 PM

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett was left frustrated after Leyton Orient inflicted a 1-0 defeat and ended the Lions' recent spell of resurgence.Despite impressive away wins at Yeovil and Swansea - Jackett's Lions failed to roar, with the 57th-minute red card for Marc Laird for a tackle on John Melligan turning the game.

Jackett said: "It's very disappointing and frustrating - two steps forward and one step back for us again.

"We had the lion's share of possession and even with 10 men we had more of the ball.

"We passed very well without having the end product we needed and we didn't get the shots in on goal that we should have done.

"There were not enough cutting edges up front, but we kept going and I was hopeful right until the end. We have got eight games left now and I certainly feel we are capable of picking up the points we need."
