Sun 16 Mar, 02:30 PM

Carlisle manager John Ward was quick to praise his battling side for their resilience after they fought back to claim a 2-2 draw at Swindon.Brave Swindon had stormed back from a goal down to lead, but Carlisle refused to give up.

With 10 minutes remaining, Carlisle made a rare excursion into the Swindon penalty area for a corner, taken on the right by Simon Hackney. Peter Murphy rose to meet it with a firm header from eight yards to keep alive Carlisle's promotion charge.

Ward said: "Credit to Swindon, they played extremely well, and we were hanging on.

"At one stage, I could not see where we were going to get two goals from, but it says much for this team that we did get them.

"I am very proud of the team as a group of players, and just relieved to have got something."
