Austria's Elisabeth Goergl won the final women's World Cup giant slalom of the season to finish second in the discipline's standings.

Italy's Denise Karbon, who had already secured the giant slalom title with five wins this season, was eighth.

Nicole Hosp of Austria led after the first run but made a mistake halfway down the second leg.

Italian Manuela Moelgg, sister of men's newly-crowned slalom champion Manfred, was third in the giant slalom rankings after finishing second in the race.

Austrian Kathrin Zettel was third on the day.
