Premier League - Rosicky suffers injury setback

Eurosport - Mon, 16 Mar 13:46:00 2009

Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has suffered another setback in his bid to make a long-awaited return to first-team action.

The Czech international has not played for the Gunners since January last year due to a problem with his hamstring tendon.

After problems with the initial diagnosis, it was then thought that the midfielder would be back in time for the start of this season.

Since then several comebacks have been pencilled in only for the 28-year-old's hamstring to flare up as soon as his training regime was stepped up.

But a return to action in the next few weeks was thought to be a real possibility, with talk of a reserve game mooted.

That, though, has been shelved and he faces another two weeks on the sidelines at least.

"Tomas has had a little setback of one week so he will be out for two weeks again," manager Arsene Wenger told the club's official website.

"We have to be more patient than in the start. I told you two weeks ago that he would be back in full training but he will not.

"He'll be back in full training in two weeks' time now."

  1. Oh yeah. the article. It's a shame he's been out for so long. Rosicky is a world class midfielder.
If we can get him fit and playing well. With him, arshavin, Fabresgas and Nasri in midfield.
We'll be very hard to stop offensively.

  2. Not again. Yet another setback. Not good. The Gunners could really use him for the stretch run. I really hope he can can at least play this season. I think Wenger should just shut him down for the rest of the season and hope he is healthy by the start of next season. Get well soon Rosicky.

Tobi far far cry from a title...your gunners are injury prone and have a hard time winning trophies. Not that they are not good caliber its just your Arsene @#$% of a coach is stupid when it comes to personel with the balls to play well in big games. No heart for winning!
