Alessandra pens new Latics deal

Oldham striker Lewis Alessandra has signed a new three-year contract at Boundary Park as he was due to be out of contract in the summer.The 19-year-old has started 10 games so far this season, scoring his first senior goal in the 3-1 win against Tranmere last month.

The Oldham academy graduate only signed professional terms with the Latics last summer but has now secured his future until the end of the 2010/11 campaign.

"We think Lewis has a bright future in the game," Chief Executive Alan Hardy told the club's website.

"I am sure is game will continue to improve and the goals will start to flow."
