Brazil coach Dunga has admitted that out-of-favour forward Adriano could still return to the national team if he proves his long-term fitness. The 25-year-old Sao Paulo striker, on loan from Internazionale, made his last international appearance on January 6 2007 when Brazil lost 2-0 to Portugal in a friendly played in London.
On Wednesday, Dunga told SporTV that the national team door remains open to Adriano, who has impressed with some good performances in the Sao Paulo state championship and the Copa Libertadores since returning to Brazil.
Dunga said: "He is the player he used to be, he will surely have possibilities to play in the national team. He is a very good, talented, strong player.
"Adriano has improved a lot at Sao Paulo. He had some minor problems but now he has started to be the Adriano he used to be."
Adriano moved to Sao Paulo from Italy in late 2007 after Inter owner Massimo Moratti sent him on unpaid leave to his native Brazil due to his poor physical condition.
