Juve polish off Parma to stay third

Wed 16 Apr, 10:45 PM

Juventus cemented their place in third spot in Serie A with a well-deserved 3-0 victory over struggling Parma.

The match was rearranged after the original game was called off last month after a Parma fan was accidentally run over and killed by a bus driven by Juventus supporters.

David Trezeguet set Juventus on their way with the opener after just 16 minutes with a simple tap in after a mistake by Parma keeper Luca Bucci.

Juventus doubled their lead on the half hour mark with a superb effort from Raffaele Palladino.

The home side put the game beyond Parma 13 minutes from time when Stefano Morrone headed into his own net.

Parma's misery was compounded when Fernando Couto was sent off moments later for dissent.

The defeat leaves Parma just one point above the drop zone, while Juventus strengthen their grip on third spot.
