Lisbie: I won't ask to leave Us

Wed 16 Apr, 06:30 PM

Kevin Lisbie insists he will not be asking for a move away from Colchester as the club prepare for life in League One next term.Lisbie has been one of the few success stories for the rock-bottom Us with 17 goals so far this season and is likely to be linked with a summer switch away from Essex.

But the former Charlton frontman is not losing any sleep over his future and would be happy to spearhead the club's promotion bid when the new campaign kicks off.

"If no clubs come in for me and the club want to keep me and we talk about a new deal, then that's what we'll do," he said.

"Obviously I want to play at the highest level possible but I'm not going to start saying I want to leave. If it happens, it happens.

"I have two years left so if anything happens it will be to do with this club and another club, it's not going to be me saying I want to leave so we will wait and see."
