Manchester City have won the FA Youth Cup after a 3-1 second leg win and 4-2 aggregate success over Chelsea at the City of Manchester Stadium.
The cup remained up for grabs following a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge and City fought back well to lead 2-1 after trailing to an early own goal.
It was the visitors who forged ahead early on when Greg Hartley superbly blocked Jacob Mellis' shot, only for defender Ray McGivern to inadvertently divert the rebound into his own net.
The home side were not behind for too long with captain Ben Mee nodding home Andrew Tutte's right-wing cross for a deserved leveller.
City continued to press and found themselves in front on 35 minutes when Vladimir Weiss' superb right-footed effort left Rhys Taylor clutching at thin air.
The Blues pushed forward in numbers after the break in search of an equaliser, but City's defence held out.
The closest Chelsea came to leveller was in the 78th minute when substitutes Frank Nouble and Adam Phillip had chances, but the latter failed to beat Hartley from close range.
The victory was completed in the closing stages when David Ball netted from the penalty spot after Sergio Tejera brought down the impressive Weiss.
The game ended on a sour note for both teams when Mellis was given a straight red card for a blatant and unnecessary challenge on Kieren Trippier, who was stretchered off following the incident.
