Mansfield defender Gareth Jelleyman has been ruled out of the Stags' crucial League Two home clash against Shrewsbury at the weekend.
The 27-year-old has been nursing an Achilles problem which forced him off after just 20 minutes of the goalless draw at Macclesfield on Saturday.
"The problem has finally caught up with him. Gareth wanted to play in the game and we thought he would be okay, but it has finally come to a head," physio Paul Madin told the club's official website.
"He needs to rest it and he will not be fit enough for the weekend."
Madin also revealed that top scorer Michael Boulding and goalkeeper Carl Muggleton are making good progress in their recoveries from respective ankle and thumb problems.
