Swansea City defender Alan Tate is hoping midfielder Andy Robinson will commit his future to the League One title winners.Tate, who recently signed a two-year-deal himself, believes keeping Robinson is hugely important as the Swans begin planning for life in the Championship.
Boss Roberto Martinez confirmed he had made an offer to the player and had set a 10-day deadline for Robinson to make his decision.
Vice-captain Tate told the Swansea Echo: "Because of what he brings to the team and who he is, I really hope he stays. As a team-mate and as a friend, Andy has been fantastic.
"I can't pay him any higher compliment than to say he is a great lad who's good in the dressing room, and he's a very good player whose goal record speaks for itself."
He added: "I don't know whether he'll stay because I don't know what his reasons for not signing are."
