Hartlepool United winger James Brown believes Pools can challenge for promotion from League One next season. An impressive campaign for Brown saw him win a number of awards, including Players' Player of the Season, and Brown is sure the team can build upon a season of consolidation which saw them finish 15th.
Brown, 21, told the Hartlepool Mail: "We've definitely got enough talent in the squad and we've already shown we can play against the top teams in the league.
"We've retained the majority of our players, including myself, and I think the foundations are there to build on. Maybe a couple of fresh faces in the team may help, but we've got a good nucleus in the side anyway, so I'm sure we can be pushing at the top end of the table."
He continued: "We've played very well in a lot of games, but maybe just come unstuck a few times when we perhaps should have won. But we are going in the right direction, definitely."
