The field includes two former world champions, Shaun Murphy and Peter Ebdon, and two Crucible runners-up, Mark Selby and Ali Carter.

Double ranking-tournament winners Neil Robertson and Ding Junhui also compete, along with Ryan Day, Joe Perry and four Asian wild cards.

The tournament will also be split between two venues, with the group stages and semi-finals will held in Nanjing, from June 4 to 6 before the final is held in nearby Wuxi City, Ding's home town, on June 8.

This new tournament is part of World Snooker's strategy to develop the Chinese market further with the objective of hosting more ranking events in the region.

Meanwhile, Ding has promised to donate all his winnings in the minor tournament he is currently playing in to the disaster relief for China's worst earthquake in recent decades.

"I hope I can do something to help, but one man's power is limited," said Ding, currently playing in the Huangshan Cup Snooker All-star Game. "I hope everyone can give a hand."
