Chisholm draws line under controversy

Hibernian midfielder Ross Chisholm has shrugged off the controversy surrounding his goal-line clearance against Rangers in midweek and targeted an even better result against Celtic on Sunday.

The 21-year-old was adjudged to have got back just in time to stop Nacho Novo's close-range effort from fully crossing the line in Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Rangers. The Ibrox side were adamant a goal should have been awarded but assistant referee Martin Kryans disagreed and Chisholm has backed the officials' decision.

Now, the youngster insists the Easter Road outfit are solely focused on damaging Celtic's title credentials and said: "The linesman's got a difficult job and he decided it wasn't a goal, so end of. Rangers can still win the league and that's not going to lose them the league."

He added: "They had chances before that. Novo had two open goals, you could say, and if he takes them there was no reason why Rangers couldn't have gone on to win the match. But he didn't.

"If it happened again on Sunday I would clear it off the line and then there's going to be the same stories.

"As players at Hibs at the moment we are just looking at each game trying to get three points, whether it's Rangers or Celtic, or Hearts, Aberdeen or Dundee United."

  2. I thought it was over but because we weren't given a great angle to enable a definitive answer it could be argued it wasn't over.

Correct decision not to give it then imo.
