Jim Gannon's newly-promoted Stockport County side will begin their 2008/09 campaign in League One with a trip to Huddersfield on August 9.County, who beat Rochdale 3-2 in the League Two play-off final last month, then host Leicester the following week before a trip to Hartlepool and another home game against Scunthorpe.

The much-anticipated Cheshire derby will first take place on Saturday, November 22 when County travel to face Crewe at Gresty Road.

The return leg, on Saturday, April 25, will be Stockport's last home game of the season.
