Leeds United will launch their bid for automatic promotion from League One with a trip to relegated Scunthorpe on August 9.Gary McAllister's side will take on Oldham in their opening home match the following Saturday (August 16).
Leeds' only local derby clashes during the 2008/9 season are against West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield, who they are scheduled to play at Elland Road on November 15 and at the Galpharm Stadium on February 14.
Scunthorpe, relegated in May, will visit Elland Road on February 28, while league clashes against Leicester, also looking to bounce straight back to the Championship, will take place at home on Boxing Day and at the Walkers Stadium on April 13.
Leeds will wrap up their campaign with the visit of Northampton on May 2.
