Bolton have made their first signing of the summer with the capture of Fabrice Muamba from Birmingham City.
The England Under-21 midfielder penned a four-year contract at the Reebok Stadium in a deal worth over £5 million.
Bolton boss Gary Megson told the club's official website: "Fabrice is a tough-tackling central midfielder who has had a good grounding with the Arsenal youth set-up.
"He's played in the Premier League with Birmingham City and he'll be a tremendous asset to Bolton Wanderers over the coming seasons."
Muamba was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo but moved to England in 1994 before becoming a naturalised British citizen.
The 20-year-old came through the ranks at Arsenal before joining Birmingham - initially on loan and later on a permanent basis - making 37 appearances last season and scoring two goals.
Muamba made his England Under-21 debut against Romania in August 2007 and has since won a further six caps.
