Astana have suspended their Kazakh rider Assan Bazayev for two weeks because he did not provide thorough information on his whereabouts for the purposes of drug testing.
Kazakh road champion Bazayev, 28, was supposed to take part in the Tour of Switzerland last Saturday but he did not start the nine-day stage race.
"He has been suspended for two weeks because he did not file his whereabouts correctly," Astana team spokesman Philippe Maertens said.
"This is an internal sanction. He is very negligent, this is not the first time it has happened.
"It can happen once but twice is too much. We don't want to have any problem with the UCI."
Professional riders must notify anti-doping authorities of their location at all times so they can be found and tested.

this boy knows he is in trouble remember we had rio the footballer abd christine the runner doing the same thing a drugs cheat is a drugs cheat .
Also I think it is important to note that I have two dogs. One brown and one black.
Really ?lol.........Just heard that he is ho-oking up with a nice gi-rl on the inter-esting cl-ub called: __Tallconnect Co M__, really ? Sounds it is a famoaus on-line service.
Blah Blah Blah - Armstrong is such a sweet innocent guy, yet the whole team he is in are ALL taking drugs.
Boo Hoo Hoo - You lot are gonna look like idiots even more when he is found guilty!!!
I do believe there have been cases with doping on Astana long before Lance was there. Surely you have heard of Alexander Vinokourov, and if you haven't you have no basis for ever posting an argument on these forums.
Why oh why does everyone bring up Lance every time an ex or new team mate has a drug problem. There is no evidence whatsoever to connect him to any of these accusations. Please leave him alone & accept him as the greatest TDF winner.Stop pilloring him & get a life.
Seems to me that the mindset of some of the developing nations remains in the late 90s - I would include Kazakhstan in this group. Riders generally come from incredibly humble backgrounds and they see cycling as a way out and need to earn money. To earn good money, you have to perform and this spawns a culture of risk-taking. Whilst difficlult to justify, it's not difficult to understand. The pressure to get results is still huge, especially for a Kazakh in a Kazakh-funded project in what is fast-becomming the national sport. Any link to Armstrong is spurious, given he's only been part of the team for 6 months and probably doesn't even speak to anyone outside of his inner-circle of sychophants.
God even the Pharmastrong fans are starting to link the drugs cases to Pharmastrong
Maybe you have realised the truth now - Everywhere Lance Pharmaceutical goes, so do DRUGS!!!!

Agree. Regarding ex-Posties cheats Landis, Hamilton and Heras (and other?), I think these guys not only had very high expectations to perform when they became leaders themselves, they likely will have had inferior training and coaching after USPostal, no 'talisman' figurehead like Armstrong to push them and likely weaker drug ethics in other teams to that in USPostal (no positives with that team, right?).
'
All these factors will likely have contributed to an increased probability of ex-Armstrong teammates succumbing to drugs.
'
To make connections with Armstrong himself is fuzzy thinking.
why does it always have to be about armstrong? in every post people either glorify him or bash him...I say who cares!
Agree totally. Just waiting for someone to point out the spurious connections between Armstrong and Bazayev...when there is absolutely NONE......apart from the fact that they are team-mates.
Cue the Armstrong bashers to somehow link this suspension to drugs, and then to Armstrong himself using drugs in 3...2...1...
