Boss Brendan Rodgers insists developing the current crop of players will be central to his role at Reading.
Rodgers signed a three-year contract earlier this month and is keen to begin working with the players who missed out on promotion back to the Premier League last season.
"There will always be learning," he told the club`s official website. "If you are prepared to learn you will do well and my method of working encourages learning, which is very important.
"There`s no problems trying to improve - when you have the right mentality.
"If you want to improve then you will. I saw it with young players at Watford, and so too at Chelsea when Frank Lampard improved after Deco came in.
"Improvement is purely about motivation. I know the players here have the ambition to do well."

Don't think so not this season think we will be a lot better with a team that is starting to gel and a manager that actually has Watford in his blood now so he will get the team doing it for us.
i think mid table is about right.but it will be nice to send watford down second last game of the season
I reckon mid table with a rookie manager and a rookie team but wait to see what the very very wise phil hayward1 has to say. Over to you phil lets hear your best!!!
It will be a different team, playing a different style. SHunt will probably be no longer effective, a tireless not so skilled winger will be less required with passing football. The younger players, who hardly got a chance last season are known to Rogers, and some might be quality in a passing game. We'll have to see, next season is going to be an unknown, perhaps we'll be mid table, perhaps champions. Look what coppell did one season to the next, completely different, bad to good, good to amazing, amazing to awful!
Ok, so we won't be buying any new players, ummm, guess where we will be at the end of next season?
