Ricardo Carvalho said he would welcome a move to Internazionale after accusing Chelsea of neglecting him when he was injured.
The Portugal defender is wanted by the Serie A champions, where his former boss Jose Mourinho is in charge.
The 31-year-old endured a frustrating campaign last season and injuries limited him to 18 appearances as the Blues finished third in the Premier League and won the FA Cup.
"I've been at Chelsea for five years, and four of them were very good, but this last season I spent a lot of time out injured," he said in the Daily Star.
"This last year I was injured a lot. I wasn't happy and Chelsea can't have been happy with my contribution.
"Furthermore, when I was injured the club should have given me more support. They should have helped me more, especially given my past four years at Chelsea.
"Their attitude disappointed me a little. I believe my time at Chelsea has come to an end and I'm very happy a big club like Inter are interested in me.
"It's a new challenge and I'd like to play in Italy."
Of former coach Mourinho, Carvalho added: "Mourinho's a coach who knows me better than anybody.
"Together we won big trophies. He's an ambitious coach and a perfectionist.
"Let's see if the clubs can reach an agreement. I'd love to work with Jose Mourinho again."

Chelesa have no serious pedigree as a people oriented club. They just have money to throw aroud but have no character. Imagine treating Carvalho like that.
no one can seriously believe that ANY Chelsea player is NEGLECTED when injured!!!!! If you believe that, then you must be from the bottom 10 clubs in PL. clubs of Chelsea's calibre spend a personal touch on ALL our players!!!! Have you toured round the training centre and see a snippet of the regime of recuperative treatment given to these lot, it makes most expensive private health club look 3rd class fitness centre.
So it is a blatant lie that Carvy - again whoever says this guy is the best defender than Alex really is an enemy of CFC and we know who you are people - says he is getting a bad treatment, when all he is doing is to follow JM everywhere so that he can continue to get pampered like a totally spoilt brat.
I don't know about any other clubs, but any CFC player that is treated well - remember he has always being first choice in his position, until he became injured, just like Cole and Terry when they were injured - and cries foul play for no reason (except for perhaps they are following the trend of Man U. diver - Ronaldo) so that he can jump ship to be with his beloved JM is NOT worthy of wearing CFC not to even talk of playing for CFC!
I say we do away with this cry-cry baby. Alex the greatest defender and more to come from him. have you noticed the difference in really satisfied players in any club...they just get on with it fully satisfied!
no. 16:"H C" wat r u on about???!!! terry nd alex r sum of da best defenders in da prem!!!! y wood chelsea ged rid?! Chelsea 4 lyf
34 sounds like a scouser with A levels
WOT A @#$% !!!!! SEND HIM ON HIS WAY , KIN R SOLE
I will be gutted to see Carvalho leave but it will be in everybody's best interest. Chelsea have 5 central defenders for a squad that only needs 4.
Terry is a must which leaves Alex, Ivanovich and Mancienne. Alex didnt let us down at all last season while Rikky was out and Ivanovich can play central or right back. Mancienne is a ball playing defender in Rikky's mould and in the right games would be a good partner for JT.
If Rikky stays, Mancienne will go and he is the future. There is no doubt Carvalho will miss games due to injury again next season, sad, but goodbye to a Chelsea great.
I don't understand! he wants to play while he is injured? Or he didn't get any salary?
it makes me laugh when footballers feel neglected while they are injured. Firstly, they still take home their hefty weekly wages. Secondly, they are provided both emotional and more importantly medical help by the best doctors, nurses and physiotherapists in the world. Spare a thought for the normal people in this world who might be working for themselves.....then find they have no income when they have a bad back or a broken leg. on top of that, they have to rely on the waiting lists of the NHS. Spoilt brats.
I very much doubt carvalho said any of the above. usually you will hear them a few days later stating that their words were mispinterpreted or lost in translation. While it seems Inter are interested, actually Milan are more in need of a good ball playing centre back. I really wish Milan had shown some interest.
if this article is a true representation of ricardo carvalho, it will be a sad day when he leaves i firmly beleive he is one of the best defenders in the world
for service to the club we salute you.
and to deco,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,bye.
Dont want to play for you??? Simple GET RID
carvalho should fight for his place in the chelsea team, now he has a bit of competition he doesnt like it,but he should stay one more season because i think that the players that have been together for 5 years or so are on the brink of glory ,they just need to stay tight and stop their little winges, i think that they are paid enough to be gracious as well as good.
Chelsea should let Carvalho and Deco go, he was brought to Chelsea by Morinho and want to follow him since last season thats why he appeared 18 times through the year. Deco came to Chelsea because of Scolari and he left he never played then on, so let them join their master. These guy are old, we got enough cover from the youth. Mancinne, Sto..... Alex can be better in that position, Terry the master. Cash in on them and bring in a striker and mid-fielder . Chelsea forever
Bye man, and i will keep watching you again at inter when the league start proper,i wish you well whereever you are going.you have play your part in chelski let others do same, you are a great footballer in and out. Do have a good time and am wishing you well once again.
Without question, Carvy is the best defender in Chelsea´s squad. He deserves more than a secondary club from London... He´s ten times better than Terry. Not as captain but as a player. Ricardo, go to Inter and you and José will win the champions next year.
chelski fans are very selfish this is a guy that you fans knows is the best defender even in premiership and you guys are not appriciating him because is living for good,i will never be part of enemy of progress,he said the management did not treat him well and you guys are saying is not true are you a member of the team or do you know what happen over there! lets the management defend themself and tell us what he said is not true.man.u 4 life
he's been a sick note since Jose left, always missing big games and when he played he was poor, he can talk all the rubbish he wants but in the end everyone knows he's been planning this, good riddance
just let him go now.he,s shown hes feelings towards leaving, so he aint gonna give 100% now,so flog himnow,or will end up another GALLAS possibly,
In response to mkoleosho, ... why is it that as soon as a player is linked with a move away from your club you blame the player for not having the heart for the club ? In some cases yes the player might have a neglectful attitude towards the club but most cases the player is looking for a new challenge ! Like Carvalho, a good solid player who was missed when his first major injury occured ... back then all that was spoken about was the effect of his absence and now that he has expressed interest in a new challenge to be linked back with his mentor of many years you criticise him ! Makes no sense to me buddy ! And please take into consideration that you do not know how he was treated during his injury ! He is quoted saying he was not happy with their efforts and so you cannot fault his desire if this be truth !
I have always disliked this guy right from day dot! Alex is a solid defender that can score goals convincingly too that sloppy Carv. When he is in defence he messes up a lot, and made and makes horrendous and some catastrophic errors that even Maurinho will slap him for! I don't know why Chelsea has to retain ungrateful loosers like him and Deco, throw them back to where they are coming from! I now think these European footballers only come here to mint us dry (they'll never get paid the ridiculous amount of money we offer them in this country) and deprived us from brewing our own home-grown stars...time for even greater limitation of foreign players - including Europeans - to play in premier league clubs!
Away with you Carvy, the Blue blood was never in your veins! And so you don't belong with us!!!!!
