Former Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez has declared his interest in becoming the next Motherwell boss.

The 49-year-old, who has been out of management for more than a year, would welcome a return in Scotland's top flight.

"The Motherwell post is one I would not rule out," he told the Scottish Sun. "The time is right to get back into the game. I'm on the lookout for a fresh challenge."

He added: "As a former Northern Ireland manager, I watch the SPL and players like Steven Davis and Kyle Lafferty.

"I've noticed there have been quite a few jobs going in Scotland in recent weeks.

"I have made a bit of money earlier in my career and it's the love of the game that keeps me going.

"I am interested in the chance to experience something different so a move to the SPL would absolutely interest me."
