Amid reports that Manchester United have turned their attentions to David Villa, we ask whether the Valencia striker is the right man for the Premier League champions.
Reports have suggested the Spain hitman would set United back £45m, but is he worth that kind of money?
Alex Ferguson will have £80m to spend once Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Real Madrid is completed so perhaps the money becomes a side issue.
But would Villa actually thrive with United in the Premier League? His compatriot Fernando Torres made a seamless switch from La Liga to the English top flight, but Villa is a different player altogether.
Like Torres, he is a born finisher, but with a slighter stature, is he as well equipped for the rigours of the Premier League as the Liverpool ace?
What do you think? Have your say below or on the message boards, via the link underneath the photo!
Here's what you have been saying already:
zitrostars0920: "Get rid of Berba, keep Tevez, and sign Villa. Give Nani and Anderson more playing time so they can develop. We need more attacking football please. Ribery, maybe, but not for the asking price!"
pkw.wilson: "Villa is a great striker, but Torres is leagues ahead of him. Two weeks ago there's no way he would have cost £45 million."
makjun: "Why would he want to leave Spain when in fact all top five players in the world will play in La Liga next season? What is there left in the Premier League which has lost its shine?"
Dark.Soul: "It's at least 15 million too much. He wants to go to another club in Spain. I don't see it happening unless David Gill pulls off some kinda magic. I would prefer Torres though but it would take more than a miracle for him to come to United."
craig.hoy: "Villa to United? A disaster waiting to happen! The guy gets homesick when Valencia play away in Madrid! Manchester would be like moving to an alien planet. He would be another Veron. He's better going to Barca and United saving the cash."
Gainsy: "Did no one read David Villa's interview a few weeks ago when he said he had no intention of playing in England ever and was only looking to play in Spain, it's about time the press got over this one, it ain't going to happen!!! Nor is the Ribery one, he don't like the weather!!! Shame as it's a lovely day in England today."

he would definately be a great signing.. playing with rooney and berbatov. So absolutely. He benefits when playing with top class players and thats what man united would give him, that support.
MAN UTD WILL NOT GET ANY LIVERPOOL PLAYERS NO WAY PS LIVERPOOL 6 V 2 MAN UTD UP THE POOL THEY ARE THE BEST MAN UTD ARE @@@@@ HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
come-on fergs don't be greedy 1 perps is good enough for any man so pop that whiskey blister !!!!ronnie's dosn't need a but-plug.tttssssss!
What top player would want to go to ManU, when you cant believe a word the manager says. Apparently Ronaldo was going nowhere. The only palyer his going to get is Valencia. No wonder Tevez is going to leave
YES COME ON VILLA AND TORRES WOULD BE THE BEST STRIKER
Villa would be a great addition to the United Squad. His speed and keen sense in front of goal would instantly make him a man u favorite. I would really like to get him. If they can sign him and Ribbery that would be a perfect signing summer. Sign Villa!!!!!!!!!
SEYA. i think man u has to buy this three players. if they want to stay on top.1.Valencia (wigan) 2.rebrey (bayern) and 3.benzema (Lyon) if it's possible. otherwise i can't see man u bringing villa.
DAVID VILLA WILL NOT PLAY IN ENGLAND.
DAVID VILLA IS A REAL MADRID PLAYER GET OVER IT.
WHY CAN'T YOU ENGLISH JUST GET YOUR OWN PLAYER INSTEAD OF GETTING PLAYER FROM EUROPE AND OTHER COUNTRIES
WITHOUT PLAYERS FROM EUROPE ENGLISH FOOTBALL WOULD BE NOWHERE AND YOU ALL KNOW ITS TRUE
It seems that the weather is a big factor when two clubs go head to head for a player. For example MU and Real are going for Ribery and Villa. Even if MU proposes slightly higher price "which is unlikely to occur" It is very evident that both would rather go to Spain than stay in a cloudy, raining, and frozen city. Too bad for Manchester United!
"villa has his eyes on premier league but who would he prefer for a manager rafa or fergie oooooooooh hard choice but can we afford him?...... 5 players to go this summer transfer ....i think so...sorry manu !!!!
Word on the street say's Villa said he wouldn't sign for Manure he'd rather sandpaper his nut's than sign for whiskey nose. This is just what i heard from my local.

you could probably get a silva + Villa + arbeol for a package of £60mil
david villa is a real madrid player he is not comming to england to play football
Silva to replace Ronaldo and Villa to replace Tevez, as Tevez has now got the bulging eyes for the money at Man City.
Silva is a must, who we get to play up front with Rooney is another matter.
And to Rafa, forget it, your owners won't be giving you much money to spend, so how are you going to close the gap? The gap is likly to get even bigger, if Fergie gets the right players in with the money from Ronaldo's sell.
forget villa, and wave to tevez cus he aint pulling on utd shirt again.. he wont resign due to what he wants and we cant offer him 1st team starts.. so .. thx alot.. wave Ronnie... Judas.. thx alot for the cash and what ya did the last few seasons.. not perhaps this last season just gone because his heart was never in it.. so.. all eyes on fergie.. torres will not be joing utd.. ever.. so thats out.. so.. its lets wait and see what the master buys.. and dont listen to the press.. there selling daily papers.. got to write summat and if they cant find a story.. we all know they`ll make one up..
i think valencia and silva is all we need if we hold on to tevez.
Don't be stupid and think Torres is coming to Utd... neither is Villa (unfortunately) We need 2 of the following players as long as they don't cost an arm and a leg. Valencia, David Silva, Alexis Sanchez, Ribery, Eto or Mohamed Zidan. Fergie, make it happen!!
forget villa sighn tevez
I'll tell you who Man Utd need to sign urgently to replace Ronaldo... Egypt's Mohamed ZIDAN.. he is class and just put 2 past Brazil. All Utd fan's reading this need to youtube him and spread the word so Fergie can hear!! Zidan Zidan Zidan!!!
