Amid reports that Manchester United have turned their attentions to David Villa, we ask whether the Valencia striker is the right man for the Premier League champions.
Reports have suggested the Spain hitman would set United back £45m, but is he worth that kind of money?
Alex Ferguson will have £80m to spend once Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Real Madrid is completed so perhaps the money becomes a side issue.
But would Villa actually thrive with United in the Premier League? His compatriot Fernando Torres made a seamless switch from La Liga to the English top flight, but Villa is a different player altogether.
Like Torres, he is a born finisher, but with a slighter stature, is he as well equipped for the rigours of the Premier League as the Liverpool ace?
What do you think? Have your say below or on the message boards, via the link underneath the photo!
Here's what you have been saying already:
zitrostars0920: "Get rid of Berba, keep Tevez, and sign Villa. Give Nani and Anderson more playing time so they can develop. We need more attacking football please. Ribery, maybe, but not for the asking price!"
pkw.wilson: "Villa is a great striker, but Torres is leagues ahead of him. Two weeks ago there's no way he would have cost £45 million."
makjun: "Why would he want to leave Spain when in fact all top five players in the world will play in La Liga next season? What is there left in the Premier League which has lost its shine?"
Dark.Soul: "It's at least 15 million too much. He wants to go to another club in Spain. I don't see it happening unless David Gill pulls off some kinda magic. I would prefer Torres though but it would take more than a miracle for him to come to United."
craig.hoy: "Villa to United? A disaster waiting to happen! The guy gets homesick when Valencia play away in Madrid! Manchester would be like moving to an alien planet. He would be another Veron. He's better going to Barca and United saving the cash."
Gainsy: "Did no one read David Villa's interview a few weeks ago when he said he had no intention of playing in England ever and was only looking to play in Spain, it's about time the press got over this one, it ain't going to happen!!! Nor is the Ribery one, he don't like the weather!!! Shame as it's a lovely day in England today."

villa would be amazing for united come to old traffold
COME ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After the Ronaldo farce, ie United needing the money and selling there best player Abromovich goes and buys himself a new toy, At 550ft, the £200million boat is the biggest private yacht in the world - 100ft longer than any frigate or destroyer in the Royal Navy to add to his other 3 massive Boats. Shows you who has the money in English football.
Man U loosers
greekcfc619 - 2 things fella. First - these players are PROFESSIONAL footballers so it is about the money. A rare few gate to play CL but most dont. Second - two years from now Man City will be preparing for CL football in the coming season. The man from Sandland wont accept anything else. Minimum 6th this season, 4th next. Unlike the rest of the premiership the money is not an issue.
I will play for ManU, i will replace CR. I will make the opponents to score own goals. That's then end of the EPL.
muhaimin_manu96 - Ha Ha LOL !!!! What a dreamer!!! "Villa,Benzema,Silva and Eto are all that Man United need" YOU CANT AFFORD THEM ALL! 2, maybe 3 if you are very very lucky and Valencia (Like Utd) are worried about going bust. And you want some midfielders as well...... LOL !!!!! Sure you're not a scouser taking the pi$$ ?
Thought Alex ferguson was a hard man ,ronaldo pulls a strop and ferguson winces and gives in to his transfer ,should have just kicked his backside for him and told him to get on with his job
if madrid or barca comes up with the same money they paid for C/Ronaldo would man utd sell him?
You see why you don't take transfer like "Torres to United ?" seriously ? Yesterday there have been reports of bids for Fernando and now they are saying Ferguson is going for Villa. Probably tomorrow there will be reports for Eto'o and the day after tomorrow reports for Benzema. Only time will tell; every summer is the same, that's why I don't get excited for ANY transfer rumors.

Villa to Utd? - disaster waiting to happen! The guy gets homesick when Valencia play away in Madrid! Manchester would be like moving to an alien planet. Would be another Veron. He's better going to Barca and Utd saving the cash.
If i were Tevez.. I would join any strong club in the Premier League and not in Spain or anywhere else. Just so that he can really show Man Utd what they missed when they make the bad mistake of not offering him a permenant deal and making him feel unwanted.
He should join Chelsea and play along side Drogba.. That in my opinion will be a large threat in attack..
If he joins Man City, they he is like Robinho, about the money and not the football..
buy tevez and villa
i think that manchester untied would better suit benzema rather than david villa
breakin news sky sports news david villa wants to come to liverpool and team up with his mates
It's at least 15 million too much. He wants to go to another club in Spain. I don't see it happening unless David Gill pulls off some kinda magic. I would prefer Torres though but it would take more than a miracle for him to come to United.
Their is a say that a bird at hand is better the millions in the bush. Carlos Tevez has proven himself to be a Premier league player both with West H. and Man utd. letting him go now will be a big mistake for man Utd. But as for David Villa and co. who hasnt proven theirself... they are good in their viarious leagues no doubt about that but remember the like of Andre Shavchenko, Diego Furlan and co who were hot in their viarious leagues before coming to the premier league but end up been flops. My point here is that Premier league is a different league entirely thanks. Pardorn My English.
Gunner for life.
Villa will take some time to adapt to english champion, the reason is simple there is no spanish squad at man u, unlike TORRES that shine brightly at liverpool but i believe villa can adapt more quickly at liverpool cos there are spanish squad and manager. Look at wat TORRES have been able to achieve in 2season
Why would he want to leave spain when in fact all top 5 players in the world will play in La Liga next season? What's there left in the Premier League which has lost its shine?
Villa,Benzema,Silva and Eto are all that Man United need...They just cannot buy young player like dodo and douglas costa..they can..but they need some experience player too.......some midfielders also need at United.
alex will buy him and make his profit and sell him in 12mths how much 90m villa dont go to utd stay with your own club
