CSKA Sofia plans to offload every foreign player on the Bulgarian club's books and build a squad made up entirely of locals.
"From now on our policy will be to rely only on Bulgarian players," the Sofia-based club's chief executive Ventsislav Zhivkov said in 7 dni sport daily.
"Everyone in the club is convinced that this is right and will bring us success," he said, while admitting that it may be difficult to remove some foreign players that were still under contract.
"You know that desire is one thing while realisation is another," Zhivkov added.
Six overseas players have already left the 31-times Bulgarian champions in the past few months while CSKA are trying to sell or loan out the remaining members of its foreign contingent.
Following poor performances by the national side in recent years, the Bulgarian Football Union ruled last month that first division clubs would be limited to a maximum of three non-European Union players to help nurture home-grown talent.

well if they have been 31 times champions, most first team players will be going.. then wat if they slip suddenly and get relegate? it wud be such a laugh man
Manu should sell berb to them!
good luck to them, they'll need it playing just local Bulgarian lads. I wonder who would win the Premiership if all the English teams were made up of players from that town/city? Being a mancunian and supporting Utd, I'll say Utd would win it year in year out easily (Nev, Wes, Scholes, Welbeck- I'd name more but I'm tired). At least the CSKA fans will know that their players are putting in the effort and not just going to them for money (Ronaldo). If Utd wouldn't win the league, who would?
what a joke, bulgaria doesnt know how to play footie.....
