Captain Charlotte Edwards (pictured) led the way with 43 as England reached 123, and in reply Pakistan were skittled for 60 runs inside 17 overs, with only two players reaching double figures.

England were not without batting problems of their own as five players were run out. Sarah Taylor (16) and Lydia Greenway (27), as well as Edwards, ensured they posted a respectable target, but ultimately they were let off by a very poor innings from the tourists.

Holly Colvin was the pick of the England bowlers with figures of three for 18 off four overs.

In Tuesday's earlier game, Australia beat South Africa by 24 runs in the first game at Taunton, having reached 164 for six off after choosing to bat first.

Openers Leah Poulton (22) and Shelley Nitschke (19) sent the Australians on their way and Karen Rolton top-scored with 43 batting at number four. Alex Blackwell ensured her side finished in style, smashing six fours and a six in an unbeaten, 22-ball 40.

South Africa began well in reply with Shandre Fritz (39) and Trisha Chetty (36) putting on 73 for the first wicket.

The middle order was unable to maintain the momentum though as South Africa slumped to 97 for six. Nitschke did the damage with the ball, taking four wickets for 21 off four overs, as South Africa came up short, finishing 140 for seven at the end of their 20 overs.
