Port Vale striker Louis Dodds believes his side are more than capable of overcoming Sheffield United in the Carling Cup first round despite losing to the Blades at the same stage last season.
United claimed a 3-1 victory in that clash with Vale's only response coming via Luke Rodgers.
Dodds told BBC Radio Stoke: "I think the new manager (Micky Adams) is a Sheffield United fan, so he'll want to get one over on them.
"It's the same for us because we want to avenge our defeat from last year.
"It's a great pitch at Bramall Lane and Sheffield United are a massive club.
"If we can do what we did against Huddersfield in the FA Cup (a 4-3 win), it will be a great result for us."
