Preston have been handed a home tie against Lancashire rivals Morecambe in the first round of the Carling Cup.
The Lilywhites were knocked out of the competition by Sammy McIlroy`s side at the same stage of the competition in 2007/08.
Ties are to played in the week beginning Monday, August 10.
