Derby face a tricky trip to Rotherham in the first round of the Carling Cup.
Nigel Clough will take his side to the Don Valley Stadium the week commencing August 10.
The Rams reached the semi-finals of the competition last season, where they were narrowly beaten 4-3 on aggregate by eventual winners Manchester United.
