Grimsby will face Tranmere in the first round of the Carling Cup for the second successive season.
Town triumphed at this stage of the competition last year when they beat the League One club 2-0 at Blundell Park courtesy of a James Hunt strike and Ben Chorley`s own goal.
The tie will take place at Prenton Park the week commencing August 10.
